Brothers,
The Catholic Men’s Fellowship group at [parish] church will gather again this coming [day/date] from [start time to end time] in [location]. Please join us and bring a friend!
You won’t want to miss this special session led by brothers [leader names]! We’re going to watch and discuss “The 21”, a brief animated movie produced by The Chosen’s Jonathan Roumie about the 21 Coptic Christian men martyred by ISIS eleven years ago. The movie, and the story of these courageous men of faith, is a powerful witness you won’t forget! The movie can be previewed below.
Readings
Matthew 10: 16-22 – Coming Persecutions…and a call to endure
Psalm 91: 9-13 – …For He will give his angels charge of you…
Our discussion will focus on our reactions to the movie, and we’ll consider what it means in our lives today by reflecting on the following questions:
- What is your reaction to the film? What message do you think God may be sending you through it today?
- The film quotes Matthew 10:22, where Jesus says: “You will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.” Where and how have you experienced this in your own life?
- The movie relays accounts of “strange figures” with swords, in black, or on horses accompanying the men on the beach. Have you ever thought about or felt the presence of angels accompanying you in times of trial?
- At the end, the Christian men uttered “Jesus, Lord forgive them…” In what ways do we need to grow more in our forgiveness of others?
We want to avoid any political discussions of the topic and just focus on the personal faith aspects. We also want to be open to wherever the Holy Spirit leads us. Come, and invite a friend!
See you there.
God bless,
The Fellowship
