Having Faith During the Storms of Life

Dear Brothers:

We will gather once again for our next session…please “reach out” to another man and invite him to join you.

This week our leaders will introduce the topic “FAITH … in the Storms of Life”!  They will share how FAITH in Christ sustained them in “storms” they have recently encountered.  They will lead a discussion aimed at generating practical steps one can take to bolster one’s own faith journey — especially during the stormy times!

Readings

There are three Scripture passages that will frame up our discussion, as follows:

Mark 4: 35 – 41 deals with the Disciples in the middle of a violent storm with Jesus asleep in the stern of the boat … HE challenges the men, over their fears, by questioning their FAITH (“do you not have faith”?).

Psalm 91: 1 – 6 as the Psalmist assures us that the “… the Lord is our refuge & our fortress … ” in times of distress and troubles.

Hebrews 11:  1 – 7 defines FAITH as the “… assurance of things hoped for … “ and further notes that “… whoever would draw nearer to God must believe that HE exists…”.

Discussion Questions

  1. When has a storm in your life tested your FAITH & how did you work your way through it?
  2. What did you learn from that FAITH experience?
  3. Have you witnessed and/or walked with someone else through their FAITH storm? If so, what inspired you about their FAITH in those moments?

We hope to see you at this coming meeting. BRING A FRIEND!

God bless all!
