Pray, Hope, and Don’t Give Up – Perseverance in Our Lives

We’ll gather again for our next meeting.  Please ask another man to join us!

This session’s discussion focuses on PERSEVERANCE.  This topic will certainly challenge us as we consider how one can remain steady — persevere — in his personal faith life.  If you have ever experienced a spiritual “dry spell” then this discussion will help you see how you might refresh those periods and PERSEVERE!

Padre Pio advised all who sought his counsel to “pray, hope & don’t give up”.  That’s good advice!

Here are the Scripture verses we ask that you consider before Saturday:

Luke 7: 1- 10 … The Centurion trusts that his simple request will be honored by Jesus as he PERSEVERES in his faith.

Luke 18: 1- 8 … The widow, on the other hand, PERSISTED until the Judge finally relented and granted her request.

Ps. 145: 1 – 21 … Holy Father St. John Paul II prayed this complete Psalm every morning — is there a greater example of PERSEVERANCE than this Saint who lived in our lifetimes?

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1.  Where have I PERSEVERED in my faith journey, and what was the outcome?

2.  Is PERSEVERANCE in my faith journey more like that of the Centurion or the Widow?

3.  How does St. Padre Pio’s counsel — “Pray, Hope & Don’t Give Up” — have application in your faith journey?

REMEMBER:  “Reach Out” to another man and invite him to join us!
